The 44th Annual Meeting of the JB. Johnston Club for Evolutionary Neuroscience will also be held at Loyola University (Watertower campus, Lewis Towers, Beane Hall) in Chicago, USA on Friday the 4th October 2024.
The schedule for the day can be found here.
Venue:
Beane Hall at Loyola University (Address: 111 E. Pearson St, Chicago, USA, IL 60611). There will be a welcoming desk at the entrance and directions to Beane Hall meeting room (either via the elevator or the stairs). Map.
We recognise that in Chicago there are a number of really good hotel options for our membership with several folks likely to choose a hotel closer to the SFN meetings. That being said we wanted to provide an affordable option for our membership and would like to recommend the Loyola Lodging at Baumhart Hall (managed by Loyola University) which is across the street from the venue. Note that we do not have a group block so we recommend booking early if you interested in this venue. 26 E. Pearson, Chicago, IL 60611. This year's annual meeting of the J.B. Johnston Club comprises short talks by JBJC members, our annual business meeting and a meeting of our JBJC Trainee Group. The tentative schedule for this years JBJC meeting will be posted here once finalized.
Abstract Submissions:
Presentations for the annual meeting will be selected by the program committee from submitted abstracts. The abstract and datablitz submission form for 2024 is available here and should be mailed to Andrew Iwanuik ([email protected]) by the 15th July 2024. JBJC presentations are short talks (~ 20 minutes) meant to present a comparative viewpoint not available in other venues. We give preference to synthetic talks or those with a relevant theoretical overview. We also invite speculative or divergent viewpoints and encourage talks that will provoke discussion. Note that you must be a member to submit an abstract. If you need to join or renew your membership, you may do so on our website: https://www.jbjclub.org/join-today.html Please feel free to share this with colleagues and students that might not normally present at or attend our meetings but should!
