Carneiro Travel Award
Luis Carneiro was a wonderful and valued supporter of the J.B. Johnston Club. For many years he coordinated the publishers’ book display and subsequent give-away to his fellow graduate students. In his honor, the Luis Carneiro Memorial Student Travel Award was established in 2002. This award supports travel expenses for a student who would otherwise not be able to attend the Karger Workshop and J.B. Johnston Club annual meeting. The goal is to increase the diversity and inclusivity of the organization by removing barriers to student participation in the annual meeting. The award is for $1000 and includes one year's complimentary membership and registration for both days of the meetings in that year. The application is available here. The deadline for application is July 1, yearly. Questions should be directed to the chair of the awards committee, Dr. Chris Braun ([email protected]).
