Student and Postdoc Affairs Committee
The Student and Postdoc Affairs Committee was established in 2020 to facilitate the communication between the graduate students and postdocs who are members of the J. B. Johnston Club, promote the research and accomplishments of its members, generate revenue for student and postdoc travel to the annual meeting, and recruit new student and postdoc members into the J. B. Johnston Club.
As a body, the committee examines graduate student and postdoc concerns and needs within JBJC. It serves as a direct link between students / postdocs and J. B. Johnston Club leadership to ensure the needs of all members are recognized.

How to get involved with the Student and Postdoc Affairs Committee and its activities

Chair: Emily Peele
([email protected]) The chair is responsible for organizing all social events and meetings related to the Student and Postdoc Affairs Committee and organizing a yearly symposium for committee members during upcoming meetings. The chair must keep in contact with the President regarding the presentation and approval of new ideas for future meetings. Fundraising Coordinator: Dan Hoops
([email protected]) The fundraising coordinator is responsible for organizing the annual book auction and future store venues at the annual meeting. The fundraising coordinator also contacts potential donors or sponsors to generate revenue for student travel. Social Media Coordinator: Nico Wiggenhauser

Johnston Club Facebook and Twitter accounts and organizes the Student and Postdoc Affairs Committee Slack channel. Contact him to share relevant information to the general community.
